It is strongly recommended and highly encouraged that every student take the ACT as a high school junior during the Spring semester. Although there is a cost to taking the ACT, each student on free lunch and others can likely qualify for a one-time fee waiver to take the ACT from the high school. To apply for the ACT free waiver, contact your high school guidance counselor for details. The JWSP also has a limited number of ACT fee waivers, which are accessible by contacting the JWSP. By taking the ACT as a high school junior, you will have a better idea at an earlier time period of which colleges to apply or which areas to study to improve. Note that the Christian County Public School System has a series of free ACT Practice classes to attend before you take the ACT.
